Building a Cosmico community, not just selling tickets
The Cosmico trip we're all on gets better with your participation.
Since Cosmico, we’ve been getting asked the question:
"Are you guys going to do Cosmico again?"
People are curious about the inner workings of the event and how things faired financially.
We’ve been an open book with friends, and are ready to do that with you. We want to build a Cosmico community, not just customer relationships. We want you inside the container with us.
By now, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that Cosmico is about much more than just a music festival. It’s a festival of expressions of love—music, food, wine, nature—all things that bring us together and raise our vibration.
One of the first lessons we learned in the music biz came from our good friend Tim Bluhm, who asked, "What's it going to take to make this thing sustainable?" Sustainable being the operative word here. We want to do this year after year. It makes us happy. It makes you happy. It supports good causes.
Cosmico is just a good thing to exist in the world.
Next week, we’re going to publish our impact report, a practice we began with Launch Pad as a mission-driven organization, and something that continues with Cosmico, produced by the Launch Pad Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This impact report will show the impact we had on the community and include a P&L for the 2024 event as part of our effort to be transparent with you—our community. We hope this transparency reinforces that we are producing Cosmico for the greater good and that we’re in this together.
We knew this would be a year of investing in building something meaningful, which means, no, we didn’t break even.
You'll learn more details in the impact report, but for now, let’s focus on the concept of community—the answer to everything for Cosmico. The bottom line is everything went great, we just need a few more people there next year. On our largest day this year, we had about 500 people. If everyone brings a friend next year, this thing starts to make sense, it starts to pencil out and be sustainable.
Instead of building transactional relationships with people who just want to see the bands on our lineup each year, we want to cultivate a community. We're in the process of co-creating Cosmico with you, building on the community that came together around Cosmico this year, and making this a journey we take together for the foreseeable future. We're building friendships, relationships, and memories together as a community
Our first step in doing that is asking for your help. A couple weeks ago, we asked for your ideas for our lineup for next year. And you, the Cosmico Community responded, 28 collaborators added 8 hours of music for me to listen to. Thanks to you, I’ve got some great new bands on my radar.
Let’s make Cosmico 2025 a participatory experience.
We’re starting to plan for next year now. If you have ideas on how you might want to get involved—as an artist, winery, artisan partner, benefactor, or volunteer—we’re looking for all of the above.
Most of all, we’re excited to have you onboard. The thing that brings us joy right now is the enthusiasm of the Cosmico community.
So, the answer to whether we are doing it again is:
A resounding, YES!
Join us in making Cosmico not just an event, but a movement—a community where we share not just music and wine, but life, love, and everything in between. Thank you for taking this journey with us.
✌️ & ❤️
- Chris
