How do I get my Camtasia video online?
I’m sure this is something I’ll figure out today, but I thought I would ask you if you know how I get my Camtasia video online? Here’s what I’m up to:
I am in the process of making how-to videos for siteMighty. It’s very easy for us to assume that everyone knows how affiliate marketing works, or even what affiliate marketing is. Clearly, not everyone does, so we have some educating to do. We think the best way to teach our users (and potential users) is through how-to videos.
I knew I wanted to do screencast videos that showed me clicking through siteMighty, but I didn’t know which app would be the easiest and best. One of our siteMighty users recommended Camtasia, and so I tried it and liked it. I downloaded the 30-day free trial and found Camtasia very easy to use, that is, until I got ready to post my video online.
I’m thinking the easiest way to put the video online, and ultimately on the siteMighty site, is to YouTube it, but here’s the problem I’m having. When I go through the process of rendering the video, I get a folder with all these different files — all of which make up the video. I need a single file to upload and watch on YouTube. I’m really showing my inexperience here, but I’m all about transparency. And anyways, I think I’m really close to getting this video online, I’m just missing one step.
Here’s my call to action:
Anyone with Camtasia or video experience, HELP! I want to get these videos up asap. I hope someone from Camtasia is ego searching and will make my how-to video dreams come true. When I figure it out, I’ll post how-to instructions for creating how-to videos. BONUS: I’ll post the video, too. Grab your popcorn!
UPDATE: (12:08PM CST 3/7/07)
Ok, so I still have some work to do, but with Camtasia’s help (see comment below) I was able to upload my video to YouTube. I’ll post it here soon. bk
