Scoble & Battelle make BBS worth the trip (for me)
I’m at the Business Blog Summit (BBS) in Seattle, and I have to say things are going much better today than they were yesterday. BBS is actually three days, but I decided to skip the first day since it was an intro-type workshop to blogging.
I think the biggest problem I had yesterday was the lack of moderation in the sessions. The titles of the sessions were very appealing, but in most cases the speakers seemed unprepared and unorganized. Very few presentations were prepared and presented, and in almost every session I attended the panel would introduce themselves and then open the floor for discussion. Today, that’s changed for the most part, and it’s because of Robert Scoble and John Battelle.
Yesterday (10/25) was my first full day. I picked my track and went to the following sessions:
Special Breakfast Session: What’s Next in Online Communications?
Keynote: Jason Calacanis
Engaging with Bloggers: Working the Blogosphere
Building Communities Online
RSS and Feeds: The Blogosphere and the Buzz
Entreprenurial Blogging: Maximizing Ad Revenues
I go to conferences to network and for take-aways that I can use for work. The networking has been good, but I haven’t been given many take-aways (i.e. notes, recommended sites, etc.).
